Philosophy of This Ministry:

  • Many streams of our on-going ministries flow together to form Tippecanoe Presbyterian Church’s Living Waters Contemplative Life Center.  Reflected is our deeply held and lived community truth: a faith journey isn’t a road traveled and so a destination accomplished…or a change made….or a goal reached.  The journey itself is the goal!  Once you have chosen to start the journey of faith, you are already within the great unfolding experience of God…though it may take some time to realize faith’s fullness… and that’s just fine!  So, in living a faith filled life, it is not so much a journey we are invited to take as it is a stream…of conscious, contemplative choice…we are invited to stand in.  In fact, God asks you only to stand in the stream of faith and give yourself to the waters.  The waters will carry you and the current guide you.  The on-going ministry of the Living Waters Contemplative Life Center simply invites you to step with God into the waters of faith and let the waters bring you to new places within yourself…enter the waters, give yourself to a new stream of consciousness.  Contemplate the mystery!

Come and get wet!

Drop down into yourself!

Look through the waters at its depth to the stillness!

  • In the stream of daily life, find God with you!  Even as you begin to approach God in contemplative prayer, action, learning, worship, God already draws close to you. Your intention captures God’s attention! No need to push the river!  Just….trust the river! Trust God’s love is the bottom stream of reality. Let the contemplative silence go to the shallow places in your heart as God calls you to the depths of love.  From the breaking waves of sadness and despair, God calls you into joy.

  • Please choose from the above listed ministries as may be helpful in your own faith journey.  These ministries are on-going, some for individuals and some experienced as community, some regularly and some seasonally.  These ministries are open to all people regardless of race, ethnic origin, age, sex, class, sexual orientation, faith journey. All are welcome at Tippe. We care. Most of these ministries are “free” for the taking, trying on, standing in.  Donations to sustain the on-going ministries of Tippecanoe Church are always welcome.

  • Please contact Tippe's church office to find out more about a contemplative opportunity that draws your attention.  You will be connected with the contact person, time, and/or location of each ministry.
